About The Position
The Music/ Band/ Chorus Teacher position at East Haven Academy is a full-time role responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing student musical programs and performances. The teacher will conduct ongoing assessments of student learning, modify instructional methods for individual needs (including special needs), and perform additional assigned duties. The role requires the ability to work successfully with diverse staff, families, and students.
Requirements
- Must hold a current valid Connecticut teacher certificate, 049-Music, PK-12.

Responsibilities
- Experience in choral and general music.
- Plans, coordinates rehearsals, and directs students in musical programs and performances for school events.
- Ability to relate successfully with staff, families and students from diverse backgrounds, experiences and skill levels.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Performs additional duties, where appropriate, which are assigned within the scope of employment and certification.
