About The Position

The World of Little League® Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is looking to hire Part-Time Seasonal Museum Associates. This position offers $12 per hour from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, and 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with shifts available on both weekdays and weekends. This position is subject to contingent required background checks. TRAINING IS PROVIDED! Museum Associate duties include (but not limited to): This role involves helping prepare the museum each morning for visitors, answering questions and assisting guests throughout the day, occasionally leading museum tours, supporting full-time staff with various projects, performing light administrative tasks, and helping with merchandise sales. Through these responsibilities, you will play an important part in supporting our mission to promote Little League Baseball and Softball within the community.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age with a valid work permit, or 18 years of age and older
  • Must reside within commuting distance of South Williamsport, PA, and have reliable transportation
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks
  • Friendly, approachable, and outgoing, with excellent communication and customer service skills; comfortable engaging with visitors of all ages, from young children to adults in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Positive attitude, open mind, and a willingness to learn; comfortable asking questions when unsure and able to follow instructions
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light physical activity such as stooping and bending
  • Be able to answer basic questions about the museum and the series
  • Computer proficiency required

Nice To Haves

  • College students majoring in history
  • Basic knowledge of Little League history is a plus, but not required
  • Genuine interest in history is essential, and pursuing a degree in History or a related field is preferred
  • experience with Microsoft Office and retail point-of-sale (POS) systems is preferred
