About The Position

The Bicycle Museum of America, located in the historic downtown area of New Bremen, Ohio, is a local tourist attraction featuring one of the largest private bicycle memorabilia collections in the world. With more than 300 bicycles in store, and thousands more in rotating inventory, the museum has something new to inform and entertain every bicycle enthusiast.

Requirements

Less than 2 years related experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Job may require employee to drive a company vehicle; job is non-DOT regulated and an MVR is required
Per 8-hour shift. Sit 4 hours. Stand 4 hours.
Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work.
Infrequently lift up to 20 pounds.
Physical and mental demands are akin to the majority of office positions with prolonged periods of sitting and prolonged use of a computer/keyboard.
Infrequent lifting, walking and climbing stairs.
Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of counting money and making change.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Archive incoming museum objects, books, pictures, articles and periodicals, which includes: scanning documents and/or receipts along with data entry of relevant information into database.
Keeping all displays looking new and fresh.
Greet patrons, take admission money, and guide patrons throughout the museum sharing information of the history of each display.
Perform patron research inquiries pertaining to bicycles. Build upon previous knowledge of museum objects through research and adding information to object files.
Work closely with Administration on special projects as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned as well as any additional duties that might arise in the daily routine consisting of cleaning, packing and unpacking materials.
