About The Position

The Museum Assistant provides vital entry-level support to keep our museum vibrant, welcoming, and running smoothly. This role is the face of the museum—greeting guests, answering questions, and handling gift shop sales with a customer-first attitude. You will play a key part in the daily life of the museum by performing opening/closing procedures, keeping galleries pristine, and tracking visitor data. This dynamic position offers a great introduction to the museum field, where you will assist with the setup of exciting public events, help safely prepare materials for educational programs, and support the behind-the-scenes installation of local history exhibitions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Six months of face-to-face customer service experience
• Current enrollment in or completion of relevant college coursework (such as Museum Studies, History, or Education)
• Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the minimum standard required for this role
