About The Position

Under general supervision of the Museum Director or their designee, Museum Aides assist with educational programs and provide information about the Museums to visitors of the Dinosaur Discovery Museum. They may also provide back up support to the Kenosha Public Museum Aide. This is a 5-hour per week position, but additional hours may be available based on Museum needs.

Requirements

  • Prior experience providing customer service and/or working with the public is desired.
  • Must be age 16 or older.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and, if 18 or older, a background check.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written orders.
  • Ability to interact with visitors from pre-school age through adult.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the public.
  • Skill in operation of general office equipment.
  • Ability to handle reasonably necessary stress.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors and provide positive public relations
  • Provide information on museum activities and exhibits
  • Set up and facilitate the dinosaur dig activity for visitors
  • Oversee and direct the Dinosaur Discovery Museum’s visitor experience in the Little Clint: The Story of a Baby Dinosaur exhibit
  • Assist Lab Supervisor and Education Department staff in the facilitation and evaluation of public programs
  • Keep current on Museum activities and share details with visitors
  • Provide extra security by observing visitors
  • Perform related duties as assigned
