About The Position

The Murata Operator position involves performing essential functions within a manufacturing environment, focusing on safety procedures, machine operation, and maintaining production standards. Key responsibilities include understanding and practicing safety protocols like lock-out/tag-out, efficiently operating and doffing assigned frames, and learning about different fibers, blends, and the yarn count system. The role requires maintaining good housekeeping standards and the ability to differentiate colors. Associates are also responsible for punctuality, attending pre-shift safety meetings, wearing assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas, following all safety rules, and reporting to their assigned work area promptly. The work environment exposes the operator to noise, dust, various chemicals, and moving mechanical parts. Physical demands include talking, sitting, walking, standing, hearing, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs, with a requirement for 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision. This is a full-time position, with days and hours determined by shift, and may require working weekends and overtime.

  • Associate must be able to learn to differentiate all fiber and fiber types, understand the weight system, learn band colors for each fiber, and learn safety guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Must understand and practice all necessary safety procedures to include lock-out/tag-out
  • Must properly cycle and keep ends up on all assigned frames
  • Must efficiently doff all assigned frames and return them to production
  • Must learn the different fibers and blends
  • Must learn and understand the yarn count system
  • Must maintain good housekeeping standards
  • Must perform any other duties as deemed necessary by management
  • Must be able to differentiate colors
  • Perform any other general duties as deemed necessary by the shift manager.
  • Arrive early enough to store all their personal items in their assigned locker.
  • Food items may be stored in the refrigerator outside the break area.
  • Punch in no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the beginning of their assigned shift and no later than 5 minutes prior to the beginning of their assigned shift and punch out no earlier than the shift will end.
  • Attend the pre-shift safety meeting scheduled to start 5 minutes prior to the beginning of their assigned shift.
  • Wear their assigned PPE in the designated areas and when performing specific task throughout the shift.
  • Follow all safety rules to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.
  • Report to their assigned work area and begin work immediately following the pre-shift safety/information meeting.
  • Continue to work in their assigned work area until relieved by the associate from the following shift assigned to their job.
