About The Position

The Fixed Income Division (FID) Product Controller supports fixed income trading desks, overseeing transaction monitoring, P&L reporting, and acting as a key control function.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Product Control experience (municipal securities preferred)
• Knowledge of accounting principles, including AFS
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Accounting or Finance degree required

Nice To Haves

• AFS accounting knowledge is a plus.
• Preference for experience with municipal securities and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accounting and financial reporting for a Municipal (Muni) Desk, including transaction oversight, P&L, revenue commentary, and balance sheet substantiation.
• Partner with front office to produce daily, weekly, and monthly P&L analysis
• Investigate and resolve P&L discrepancies (trade booking errors, missing deals, system or valuation issues)
• Liaise with Front Office, Operations, Technology, Middle Office, and Market Risk
• Enhance internal controls through evaluation and implementation of best practices
• Perform month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation
• Support ad hoc desk requests
• Drive process and system improvements through project initiatives
• Evaluate new trades for valuation, accounting treatment, and financial disclosure
