About The Position

WCSH6 NEWS CENTER Maine, in beautiful downtown Portland, is looking for an engaging and enterprising Multiskilled Journalist who can lead newscasts every day for a statewide audience. Each workday you will pitch, set-up, shoot, write, edit mobile shorts and PKGs, and often front them LIVE. The right person has a passion for deep storytelling but can turn on a dime to cover in-the-moment breaking news. This is an all-platforms job. You must be fluent and successful in what makes great TV and what makes social media buzz. A team first attitude is a must. A keen eye for creative LIVE shots and production is expected. In short, we are looking for an aggressive journalist who wants to be the best storyteller, best LIVE reporter, and provide the best social media and web content for Maine.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or similar field
• 3-5 years' experience as an MSJ/MMJ
• Experience in videography, editing, and posting to the internet
• Active on Twitter, FB, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok
• Team first attitude
• Aggressive journalist

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of CUEZ, Edius, and Axis graphics

Responsibilities

• Pitch, set-up, shoot, write, edit mobile shorts and PKGs
• Front LIVE segments
• Cover in-the-moment breaking news
• Create content for TV, social media, and web platforms
• Work collaboratively in a team environment
• Utilize creative LIVE shots and production techniques
