About The Position

The CT and X-Ray Dual Registered Technologist reports to the Imaging Director. Under general supervision, the Radiology and CT/X-Ray Dual Registered Technologist performs high quality Radiology and CT/X-Ray examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician. Operates imaging equipment: Radiology and CT, following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Provides radiographic support for all areas of the Hospital as needed. Position patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required. Avoids excessive repeated examinations by following guidelines.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent Work Experience: 2 years.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school or training program, a 24-month approved School of Radiologic Technology, or other approved training (i.e.military).
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
  • Licensed by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist and CT.
  • Certification is required in modality area post radiology certification.
  • Has 1year to obtain second modality.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • ARRT CT Registration required within 1 year in position.

  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous)
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous)
  • Ability to work in a latex safe environment. (Continuous)

  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. (Continuous)
