About The Position

Multi-modality technologist provides quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities. Technologists must be able to effectively explain the procedures to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. Technologists must produce images for the interpretation, and or request of, a licensed practitioner.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one year of radiologic experience.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Computed Tomography.
  • Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • Able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiar with age specific criteria.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing (Frequent).
  • Ability to perform job functions while sitting (Frequent).
  • Ability to perform job functions while walking (Frequent).
  • Ability to work from elevated areas (Frequent).
  • Ability to bend at the waist (Frequent).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders (Frequent).
  • Ability to reach in all directions (Frequent).
  • Possess good finger dexterity (Continuous).
  • Ability to fully use both legs (Continuous).
  • Ability to fully use both hands/arms (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes (Continuous).
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance (Continuous).
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors (Continuous).
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (Continuous).
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (Continuous).
  • Ability to work in a latex safe environment (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions (Frequent).
  • Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function (Frequent).
  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required (Continuous).

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities.
  • Effectively explains procedures to the patient.
  • Ensures competence in the procedure being performed.
  • Produces images for interpretation or request of a licensed practitioner.
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
