Northwestern Medicine is seeking a full-time Multimodality Sonographer to work nights, specifically Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. This role is integral to our patient-first approach and contributes to our quest for better healthcare. The Sonographer will evaluate diagnostic, vascular, and OB/GYN ultrasound service requests, assess patients, and determine appropriate procedure protocols. They will utilize equipment and techniques to generate ultrasound images while minimizing patient exposure, and provide patient education to reduce anxiety and enhance comfort. The Sonographer acts as an observer and communicator to gather pertinent information for physicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities also include sterile tray preparation, instruction and supervision of students, and patient care according to department and hospital standards. Additional functions include documenting imaging procedures, managing work lists, monitoring supply levels, reporting equipment issues, performing venous duplex lower extremity ultrasound exams, creating preliminary reports, and ensuring continuity of care through interdepartmental interactions.
