Multimedia Journalist
About The Position
Postmedia is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic journalist for a full-time position within its newsroom. This role is responsible for covering the communities of Cornwall, Akwesasne, and the United Counties of SDG. The journalist will file copy, photos, videos, and other multimedia elements for the company's website and print editions, handling a wide variety of assignments including breaking news, features, sports, and community event coverage. This is a remote-work position, requiring attendance at in-person events within the coverage area, and necessitates access to a reliable vehicle. The position is part of a three-person team focused on providing unique community coverage. The role is unionized, subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement with Local 555M, Teamsters/Graphics Communications Conference.
Requirements
- Track record of good storytelling.
- Ability to use all tools available within a modern newsroom to publish stories across print and digital platforms.
- Ability to balance working independently and contributing to team projects and goals.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Access to a reliable vehicle.
