About The Position

TelevisaUnivision seeks an assertive, passionate bilingual multimedia journalist with sound news judgment, social media savvy, and the ability to respond appropriately in high-pressure situations. The role calls for excellent communication and dynamic live television skills, as well as an enthusiastic, detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys working with people in a collaborative team environment. The journalist generates and reports stories across multiple platforms, including shooting and editing news stories and reporting live from the field on breaking news. The position develops sources, contributes story ideas, arranges interviews and appointments, communicates closely with the news team, show producers, and news director, and participates in station-related events. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in journalism.
1–2 years of reporting experience.
Strong live reporting skills.
Ability to work well under time deadlines.
Willingness to work early mornings, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Strong understanding of news-gathering ethical and legal issues.
Genuine enthusiasm for work and a drive for excellence.
Fluent in English and Spanish, including reading and writing.
Strong reporting skills.
Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, and sit for up to eight hours.

Responsibilities

Generate stories with minimum direction.
Shoot and edit news stories.
Produce daily content on a variety of platforms.
Develop sources and contacts.
Contribute story ideas daily.
Set up interviews and other appointments as needed to gather background for assigned stories.
Report live from the field on breaking stories.
Participate in station-related events.
Maintain close communication with the news team, show producers, and news director.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
