About The Position

KGNS+ is looking for a dynamic multimedia journalist to join our newsroom. We are seeking qualified candidates who have a passion for storytelling and news gathering. The perfect individual will be able to write, edit, and shoot engaging, informative, and compelling news content. We are looking for a storyteller with solid writing skills and the ability to turn content in on deadline under pressure. We want to hire a reporter who is ready to immerse themselves in the community, find the stories that genuinely impact the people who live here, and bring solid enterprise coverage to the table every day.

Requirements

• A college degree in journalism or a related field is required.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable.
• Initiative and attention to detail are required.
• Be able to write clearly and accurately; great grammar!
• Must be able to work well under sometimes intense pressure and tight deadlines.
• Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a manner that will work well with co-workers, supervisors, and viewers.
• Computer knowledge, including newsroom software, Microsoft applications, and Internet use.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and shoot engaging, informative, and compelling news content.
• Turn content in on deadline under pressure.
• Immerse themselves in the community, find the stories that genuinely impact the people who live here.
• Bring solid enterprise coverage to the table every day.
• Keep up with national and local news/weather.
• Enterprise local hard-news stories.
• Edit video and audio.
