About The Position

WFSB, a Gray Media station, is searching for a Multi-Media Journalist who's hungry to break exclusive content and bring compelling narratives to life across every platform. We're Connecticut's #1 source for the latest weather, including Connecticut's only LIVE Doppler radar, breaking news, traffic, and all the info you need to make it through your day. Gray Media is a growing multimedia company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. We are the nation's largest owner of top-rated local television stations and digital assets serving 117 full-power television markets that collectively reach approximately 37% of US television households. The portfolio includes 80 markets with the top-rated television station and 100 markets with the first and/or second highest-rated television station in average all-day ratings across 116 of such markets that were measured by Nielsen in 2025. We also own the largest Telemundo Affiliate group with 46 markets and Gray Digital Media, a full-service digital agency offering national and local clients digital marketing strategies with the most advanced digital products and services. Our additional media properties include video production companies Raycom Sports, Tupelo Media Group, and PowerNation Studios, and studio production facilities Assembly Atlanta and Third Rail Studios.

Requirements

• 2+ years of local news experience
• Digital-first DNA: You naturally think beyond traditional broadcast, creating content that thrives on social media, web, and streaming platforms.
• Video wizardry: You're adept at shooting and editing video, transforming raw footage into polished, engaging news segments.
• Character-driven storytelling: You have a proven ability to identify strong central characters and weave their stories into compelling narratives.
• Deadline dexterity: You thrive under pressure, consistently delivering accurate, high-quality content even when time is of the essence.
• Team player mindset: You're a collaborative spirit who loves working with others to achieve shared goals and elevate the entire newsroom.
• Unwavering curiosity: You have an insatiable drive to dig deeper, ask the tough questions, and uncover the truth.

Responsibilities
