Multimedia Journalist
About The Position
Postmedia is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic journalist for a full-time, permanent position within its newsroom. This role focuses on covering the communities of Cornwall, Akwesasne, and the United Counties of SDG, bringing them coverage not available from other local and regional media sources. The position is part of a three-person team and operates under a collective agreement with Local 555M, Teamsters/Graphics Communications Conference. This is a remote-work position, but requires in-person attendance at events within the coverage area, necessitating access to a reliable vehicle.
Requirements
- Track record of good storytelling.
- Ability to use all tools available within a modern newsroom to publish stories across print and digital platforms.
- Ability to balance working independently and contributing to team projects and goals.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities
- Filing copy, photos, videos, and other multimedia elements for the website and print editions.
- Handling a wide variety of assignments including breaking news, features, sports, and community event coverage.
