About The Position

WSMV4 in Nashville is looking for a dynamic multimedia journalist/traffic reporter. This dual-role position requires a self-starter who can gather and produce compelling news content in the field during the day, then transition seamlessly to the set to deliver afternoon traffic reports.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience as a multimedia journalist
• Strong writing skills and editorial judgment
• Ability to shoot and edit on deadline
• Ability to multitask and pivot quickly between field and studio roles
• Strong understanding of digital and social platforms
• Clean Driving Record
• Four-year college degree

Responsibilities

• Develop and pitch unique enterprise stories daily
• Shoot, write, edit, and present compelling stories, either solo or with a photographer
• Optimize story presentation for each WSMV news platform
• Participate in daily editorial decisions
• Anchor live traffic segments during our afternoon newscasts from the set
• Adapt quickly to breaking traffic incidents and update information in real time across platforms
• Maintain a professional, polished on-air presence and develop a strong rapport with viewers
