Write stories for broadcast and digital that are accurate, clear, engaging, and deadline‑driven. Collaborate effectively with newsroom staff. Deliver live reports from the field, newsroom, or studio. Meet all deadlines and complete assignments on time. Maintain professional standards for wardrobe, hair, and cosmetics appropriate for on‑air appearances. Producing: Work closely with the assignment desk to plan and build weekend newscasts. Select, write, organize, and time stories for live broadcasts. Make editorial decisions regarding content, story order, and story length. Ensure all newscast elements are accurate and complete, including scripts, graphics, video lists, and name keys. Meet production deadlines to support coordination with technical and creative teams. Work with reporters in the field to coordinate coverage and help to ensure reporter scripts are accurate and informative. Collaborate with the director and production crew in the control room during live broadcasts, making real‑time adjustments as needed. Adapt quickly to breaking news and changing situations. Complete post‑newscast documentation, reports, and preparation for upcoming broadcasts. Write and maintain content for the station website and social media platforms.
