About The Position

KEPR-TV is looking for a dynamic Anchor/Multimedia Journalist/Producer who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-platform newsroom. This hybrid role will co-anchor the morning newscasts and will report as an MMJ after the newscasts. On occasion there will be a requirement to help produce the newscast. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, confident on-air and familiar with the different digital and social media platforms to be able to tell stories in a digital format and who can seamlessly transition between roles.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred
1-3 years of experience in television news (entry-level candidates with strong internships may be considered)
Strong on-air presence and live reporting skills
Ability to shoot and edit video
Strong writing skills for both broadcast and digital platforms
Strong organizational and time management skills

Nice To Haves

Experience in a small to mid-sized market newsroom
Familiarity with iNews and Avid
Active presence on social media platforms
Bilingual

Responsibilities

Anchor assigned newscasts with a clear, confident presentation
Collaborate with co-anchor and producers to shape rundowns and story presentation
Conduct live interviews and breaking news coverage
Represent KEPR at community events and station initiatives
Shoot, write, and edit daily news stories for broadcast and digital audiences
Develop enterprise story ideas that are relevant to the region
Build and maintain sources to generate exclusive content
Post stories, videos and updates to the station website and social platforms
Help produce assigned newscast or segments as needed
Write and edit scripts, teases and headlines for clarity and impact
Ensure all content meets editorial standards for accuracy and fairness
