Under general direction, this role designs, develops, maintains, and produces a variety of educational websites, multimedia, graphics, animation, audio, and video productions to support department and program needs. The specialist also assists in the development of public information and media relations. Key responsibilities include designing and developing multimedia for training, communications, and public information, including layouts, graphics, animation, video, and sound for presentations, video productions, multimedia programs, websites, CDs, DVDs, and other electronic media. The role involves updating websites, performing technical duties in the production of video and audio projects, managing media bandwidth for streaming, operating non-linear video and audio editing equipment, editing special effects, and manipulating photos. Additionally, the specialist prepares and provides logos, programs, training materials, and newsletters using professional software, composes and edits copy, and assists in public relations and marketing activities, including writing newsletters, press releases, and radio/TV spots, and arranging interviews. Maintaining social media content is also part of the role.
