About The Position

The Multifamily Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity and appearance of a multifamily apartment community. This includes performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and responding to resident service requests to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in apartment or facilities maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must successfully pass background check process.
  • On-call availability may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and perform routine maintenance and repair in units and common areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, appliance repair, and more.
  • Ensure timely completion of all assigned work orders and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment, including monthly preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents, including cleaning, painting, and repairing, ensuring units are ready on schedule and meet company standards.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, including after-hours or weekend calls if on-call, and address safety hazards and mitigate damage in emergency situations.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, maintain knowledge of OSHA and building code requirements, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good condition, and monitor inventory and request parts and materials as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed.
  • Communicate effectively with property management, residents, and vendors.
