About The Position

The Maintenance Crafts performs a variety of maintenance tasks to keep the plant and the machinery operating. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will execute maintenance tasks, which require an in-depth technical knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical equipment. The technician will troubleshoot and repair various type of equipment breakdowns involving electrical and mechanical aspects of machinery.

Requirements

  • Trade School (required)
  • Ability to use inspections of equipment to ensure the quality of the parts being produced.
  • Must be equipped with all required tools to perform the functions of their job
  • Ability to physically do the work requiring frequent standing, bending and lifting to 20 lbs. frequently and 40 – 60 lbs. occasionally
  • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machine and inspect parts, and manual dexterity to operate the equipment properly
  • Ability to pass the respiratory test per OSHA requirement
  • Proficient trouble-shooting PLC, electronic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • 4 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Associates degree in Maintenance Technology or Electronic Technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Working safely on a variety of equipment to carry out preventive, reactive and predictive maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting electronic, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment (including, turret punches, laser, Mechanical/hydraulic power presses, and other specialized equipment).
  • Reading, interpreting, and programming PLC controllers and languages.
  • Determining root cause of equipment failures and developing preventative measures.
  • Performing electrical/mechanical fabrication and alterations.
  • Diagnosing machine operation failures and downtime utilizing machine manuals, PLCs, and other tools, including diagrams, wiring layouts, blueprints, schematics etc.
  • Inspecting, operating, or testing machinery/equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Using tools ranging from common hand and power tools (hammers, hoists, drills etc.) to precision measuring instruments.
  • Assembling, installing, or repairing wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, machinery, or equipment.
  • Inspecting drives, motors, and belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other maintenance actions.
  • Performing preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
  • Opening the plant by unlocking doors, turning on lights, starting air compressors, starting ovens and washer, light burner when ready, and turning on welding gas; and closing the plant by doing the opposite of opening responsibilities.
  • Operating fork truck/tow motor, hoists, scissors lifts and overhead lefts.
