About The Position

Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams in either an inpatient and/or outpatient setting in accordance with established protocols for positioning, image quality, radiation safety, and MRI safety. The inpatient setting may also include assignments to specialty areas requiring a radiologic technologists, such as the ED, OR, or Fluoroscopy. Utilizes a variety of specialized equipment to produce diagnostic images including the scanners, power injectors, as well as computers and various software programs to enter patient related information into hospital databases. Provides guidance to the technological staff in order to ensure high quality of work. Assists in the orientation and training of newly hired staff. Responsible for assisting with the scheduling, staffing, and operational aspects of the various sections in the department. Contributes to overall excellence of the department through commitment to personal excellence in technical and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Three years of previous experience in the specific modality.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
  • Advanced ARRT in primary modality worked.
  • State of New Jersey licensure in Radiology Technology.
  • Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) granted through the American Heart Association within 12 months of hire.
  • IV certification granted through the hospital education department within 12 months of hire for CT/MRI discipline modality technologist.
  • Analytical ability to resolve problems using specific, mathematical, or technical principles and in-depth experience-based knowledge.
  • Ability to explain clinical, technical, and diagnostic procedures to patients and their families.
