This includes verifying prescriptions, counseling patients, overseeing the work of pharmacy staff, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate state board.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and clinical guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Required to be licensed in 7 or more of the following states: AL, AK, AR, CA, KS, KY, LA, MI, MY, MS, NE, NV, OH,OK, TN, VA, WV

  • Sterile training and certification strongly preferred.
  • TX sterile training strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate dosing, and potential interactions.
  • Dispense medications and counsel patients on proper use, potential side effects, and storage.
  • Oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
  • Participate in inventory management, including ordering and checking in medications.
  • Respond to medication-related inquiries from patients and providers.
