About The Position

The Multi-Site Supervisor will oversee multiple nursery farm sites and related personnel. This role is responsible for the day-to-day tasks of the farm, ensuring production targets are met, and supervising farm employees. The supervisor will plan, direct, and coordinate daily farm activities and staff to meet production goals. Training employees on processes and procedures, providing feedback, and offering growth opportunities are key aspects of this role. The supervisor will also perform farm audits to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and facility maintenance, maintain accurate records, assess animal health in coordination with vet staff, and ensure the health and safety of employees and animals. Cost management, employee scheduling, and reporting are also included in the duties. This role does not have hire/fire authority.

Requirements

  • Two years of swine production experience.
  • Experience overseeing daily swine farm operations.
  • Experience directing the work of farm personnel.
  • Experience following detailed standard operating procedures.
  • Experience training employees on day-to-day processes.
  • Experience developing a competent workforce.
  • Experience ensuring required biosecurity protocols are followed.
  • Experience maintaining animal welfare and the environment.
  • Experience performing audits to ensure that standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies.
  • Experience creating and managing employee work schedules.
  • Experience conducting performance evaluations.
  • Experience submitting orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs.
  • Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Experience managing animal caretakers.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Daily travel required to local farms.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise multiple nursery farm sites and related personnel.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks of the farm, ensuring production targets are met.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate day-to-day farm activities and staff.
  • Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures.
  • Develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods, providing constructive and timely feedback, and offering opportunities for individual growth.
  • Perform audits of the farm to ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies on the farm.
  • Perform health assessment/hot list, working with vet staff to ensure timing and correct medication.
  • Ensure health and safety of employees and animals at the facility.
  • Submit detailed reports.
  • Track feed and ration staging for animals.
  • Manage all controllable costs, including supplies, labor, medication, etc.
  • Create and manage employee work schedules.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Submit orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Manage animal caretakers.
