About The Position

MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care, a part of MUSC Health Charleston Medical Center Downtown, is seeking a Multi-Modality Technologist (X-Ray/CT) for a PRN Days position. As the health care system of the Medical University of South Carolina, MUSC Health is dedicated to delivering the highest-quality and safest patient care. Our MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care offers a seamless, patient-centered approach to care for a wide range of conditions, from illnesses and injuries to more serious or life-threatening situations. The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is the entity for this role, classified as an Employee, PRN, with a Cost Center of CC005903 CHS - Summerville Medical Center - FSED. This position is hourly, with a Pay Grade of Health-29, and scheduled for 4 hours per week on the Day shift.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT.
Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Must be familiar with age specific criteria.
Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
Must be registered in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) & Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities.

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X-ray and CT modalities.
Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
Operate X-ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.
