About The Position

MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care, a part of MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown, is seeking a Multi-Modality Technologist II. As the health care system of the Medical University of South Carolina, MUSC Health is dedicated to delivering the highest-quality and safest patient care. Our MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care offers a seamless, patient-centered approach to care for a wide range of conditions, from illnesses and injuries to more serious or life-threatening situations. The Multi-modality technologist provides quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities, ensuring procedures are effectively explained to patients and that they are competent in performing them. Technologists must produce images for the interpretation and/or request of a licensed practitioner.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Two years of radiologic experience in two or more modalities.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must be licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association in both Radiography & CT.
  • Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be familiar with age specific criteria.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • ARRT Advanced Modality Registration.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities.
  • Effectively explains procedures to the patient.
  • Ensures competence in the procedure being performed.
  • Produces images for the interpretation, and/or request of, a licensed practitioner.
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
  • Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
