About The Position

The Multi-Modality Technologist performs direct patient care within the scope of the technologist role. This position involves performing required procedures in multiple modalities including Nuc Med, PET/CT, and CT, ensuring proper positioning and technique, and demonstrating good judgment in evaluating diagnostic studies. The technologist is responsible for screening patients, explaining procedures, monitoring patient condition, and assisting the radiologist. Compliance with safety policies, administering contrast, maintaining equipment, and preparing examinations for interpretation are key aspects of the role. Additionally, the position involves assisting with patient scheduling, ensuring excellent patient service, and conducting examinations with consideration for the patient's age and condition. The role requires Venipuncture skills and computer proficiency.

Requirements

  • HS diploma/GED required.
  • CNMT & R.T. (R) (CT) (N) or acceptable combination
  • Active State license.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Venipuncture skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent technical, clinical and academic areas to produce consistent high-quality examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform required procedures in multiple modalities Nuc Med, PET/CT, and CT through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the diagnostic study.
  • Screen patient before exams for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
  • Thoroughly explain procedure to patient. Monitor the condition of any patients and assist the radiologist in performing any needed medical attention.
  • Comply with company operational and radiation safety policies and procedures.
  • Administer contrast, when applicable, and follow proper infection control practices at all times.
  • Recognize allergic reactions and respond in accordance with company policies and procedures for emergent patient care.
  • Maintain the equipment in good working order. Clean and disinfect equipment and area as specified in policies and procedures. Maintain work area in an orderly manner. Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
  • Prepare examination for interpretation by the radiologist. Include appropriate clinical history and previous studies for comparison.
  • Assist with patient scheduling, clinical qualification and payor qualification of the patient prior to the arrival of the patient at the center.
  • Conduct examinations with regard to the patient’s age, condition and any special requirements.
  • Ensure excellent service is provided to patients, referring physicians and their staff and other employees at the center.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
