About The Position

The Multi-Modality Imaging Tech performs general ultrasound, vascular imaging, and diagnostic X-ray imaging. Under the direction of a radiologist, cardiologist, or vascular surgeon, the technologist performs diagnostic sonographic procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision of technical details. The role also involves performing a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

Completion of a Radiography Program and a Sonography Program.
ARRT (R) registration or eligibility; if eligible, obtain ARRT registration within Kentucky state licensing mandates.
Current license with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
ARDMS registration in Diagnostic Ultrasound and Vascular, or eligibility; if eligible, obtain ARDMS registration within 6 months.
Complete initial Trophon certification and maintain annual certification.

Responsibilities

Transfer and properly position patients for examinations to obtain desired radiographic results according to physicians’ specifications.
Review patient charts and previous diagnostic study results, and record patients’ personal and medical information.
Select appropriate equipment and technical factors for each patient based on specific orders and the body part to be examined.
Use film markers correctly and consistently, and follow prescribed radiation safety standards.
Perform general ultrasound, vascular, and diagnostic X-ray imaging.
Perform diagnostic sonographic procedures under the direction of a radiologist, cardiologist, or vascular surgeon, using independent judgment where appropriate.
