About The Position

This position provides direct patient care and ensures high-quality imaging services. The technologist will perform accurate total body Medical Imaging exams according to protocol, consult with Radiologists, and ensure patient satisfaction through compassionate communication. Responsibilities include obtaining medical histories, completing safety documents, ensuring the accuracy of radiologic orders, and complying with all regulatory standards for radiation safety and patient privacy. The role also involves maintaining imaging skills, coordinating patient transportation, and reporting equipment issues to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform accurate total body Medical Imaging exams according to protocol.
  • Ability to consult with Radiologists for any contraindication(s).
  • Ability to explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
  • Ability to obtain new orders in the event of an error/discrepancy.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of Medical Imaging equipment, contrast administration.
  • Responsible for obtaining accurate medical histories, completing safety documents & consents with signatures.
  • Ensures accuracy of Radiologic orders correlating with medical history, anatomy, and indications depicting medical necessity.
  • Complies with all regulatory standards pertaining to radiation safety / protection including contrast media utilization and patient privacy (HIPAA).
  • Responsible for completing the required annual education & competencies on time.
  • Maintain skill set necessary to complete Medical Imaging exams accurately with high quality imaging.
  • Responsible for obtaining appropriate procedure / supply charges required for billing purposes.
  • Coordinates patient transportation to the department as necessary.
  • Ensures the availability of applicable support personnel (nursing, respiratory, physician, etc.).
  • Responsible for reporting equipment issues to Lead Tech, Manager, and/or Director.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures accuracy of Radiologic orders correlating with medical history, anatomy, and indications.
  • Complies with all regulatory standards pertaining to radiation safety, contrast media utilization, and patient privacy (HIPAA).
  • Completes required annual education and competencies on time.
