About The Position

The Multi-line Claims Specialist is accountable for executing accurate, efficient, and compliant claims handing that is rooted in world class service. We are seeking experienced multi-line Claims professionals with a passion for customer service and a proven record of success. The position encompasses the delivery of flawless service to our members and brokers partners. PURE’s Multi-line Claims Specialist is a key member of the overall Claims team and interacts heavily with Underwriting and Risk Management colleagues in Canada. The role with report directly to the VP, Canadian Zonal Claims Manager.

Requirements

  • Individuals with 8+ years of prior P&C claims experience.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory to members’ homes is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, analytical and solid problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, exhibit team spirit and enthusiasm, and establish trust and credibility.
  • Agile learner who can quickly absorb information and apply it to current business situations.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • CIP, FCIP or CRM designation is preferred.
  • Experience in the high-net-worth industry is an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and industry-specific technology (e.g. Xactimate, Guidewire, etc.).
  • Strong relationship management and customer services skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and/or coordinate the investigation, documentation, analysis and resolution of multi-line P&C field and desk adjusted claims.
  • Handle claims in a quality manner delivering on standards of accuracy, efficiency, customer service and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively manage claim progressions and ensure impactful communications on claim status with members, brokers, and other stakeholders.
  • Operate within assigned authority for coverage determinations, claim resolutions, reserving & issuing payments for loss & loss adjustment expenses.
  • Minimize avoidable adverse financial development by ensuring initial loss and expense reserves are timely established, reviewed regularly and updated when necessary.
  • Appropriately manage vendor partner activities, including but not limited to acting as a Claims Examiner on files with an independent adjuster involved.
  • Identify and pursue subrogation recovery opportunities.
  • Represent the company in interactions with members and brokers, as well as internal stakeholders in underwriting, product management and finance.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting and Risk Management peers on new risks.
  • Other relevant responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
