About The Position

At Larson Capital Management, LLC, the Multi-Family Asset Manager role is a vital contributor to the success of our commercial real estate investment holdings, reporting to the Senior Director of Asset Management. This role requires the combination of commercial real estate acumen, astute analytical reasoning, future-focused thinking, well-honed negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external peers to accomplish overall financial goals. The Multi-Family Asset Manager is responsible for maximizing the financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term value of a portfolio of multifamily residential properties. This role oversees property management performance, asset strategy, budgeting, capital improvement initiatives, financial analysis, and investor reporting. The Asset Manager serves as the primary link between ownership, property management teams, and other stakeholders to ensure portfolio objectives are achieved.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in multifamily asset management, real estate finance, investments, property management, or related fields.
  • Experience managing multifamily residential assets and overseeing third-party management companies.
  • Strong understanding of multifamily operations, financial analysis, and real estate investment principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and real estate software platforms.
  • Strong understanding of property-level financial statements and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of multifamily market dynamics and valuation methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assets and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute asset-level business plans to optimize property value and investment returns.
  • Monitor portfolio performance against budgets, forecasts, and investment objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, reduce expenses, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate market conditions, competitive properties, and economic trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Recommend hold, refinance, recapitalization, or disposition strategies.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements, variance reports, and key performance metrics.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, cash flow projections, and investment analyses.
  • Monitor property-level NOI, occupancy, rent growth, collections, and expense performance.
  • Work closely with accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee third-party or internal property management companies.
  • Conduct regular operational reviews and property visits.
  • Evaluate leasing performance, resident retention, maintenance operations, and service levels.
  • Ensure properties comply with ownership standards and business plan objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional managers and onsite teams to address operational challenges.
  • Identify and manage renovation, repositioning, and capital improvement projects.
  • Review project budgets, timelines, and return-on-investment expectations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and property management teams.
  • Monitor project execution and financial performance.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual asset performance reports.
  • Present recommendations and performance updates to ownership, investors, and senior leadership.
  • Support lender reporting requirements and financing activities.
  • Assist with due diligence for acquisitions, refinancing, and dispositions.
  • Analyze market trends, demographic data, and competitive property performance.
  • Conduct rent studies and evaluate pricing strategies.
  • Assess acquisition opportunities and support underwriting efforts.
  • Track portfolio KPIs and benchmark performance against market standards.
