About The Position

This role involves performing visual inspections and measurements on incoming materials, including refractory and sheet metal, to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. The technician will identify and report non-conformances, conduct regular inspections of production processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate documentation, calibrating inspection equipment, and supporting departmental safety initiatives by applying knowledge of industrial safety standards and identifying health hazards.

Requirements

• Able to interpret technical documentation (e.g. specifications, design prints, SOPs, etc.)
• Proficient in using hand measurement tools and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of quality control methods, practices, and procedures.
• High attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient with MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience
• Metal fabrication and welding knowledge
• Metrology experience (e.g. CMM, vision systems, 3D scanning, etc.)
• Solidworks/CAD understanding

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and documentation.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
• Support the department's safety initiatives, apply knowledge of industrial safety standards, and identify health hazards.
