About The Position

This role is for a skilled technician to join the peaking power plant team, focusing on initial operations and long-term care for 20 Wartsila 18V50SG Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines and their auxiliary systems. The Lead Technician will be responsible for developing and sustaining reliable operations and maintenance of this new power plant. This position is part of LCRA's mission to provide safe and reliable power to Texans and local communities, with a strong dedication to service and safety.

Requirements

• Driver's license
• Six or more years of experience in power plant operations or power plant maintenance, or other relevant experience, including two or more years in the craft discipline in the assigned area of specialty.

Nice To Haves

• Adhere to safety, environmental, and operational protocols.
• Experience operating or maintaining reciprocating internal combustion engines.
• Experience in preventative maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and/or instrument and controls for power plant systems.
• Proficient in power plant operations, maintenance principles and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Foster effective communication between contractors, engineers, and colleagues.
• Collaborate closely with construction team to identify and resolve issues.
• Use basic digital literacy for communications, training, and administrative duties.
• Leverage multi-craft expertise in mechanics, electrical systems, and I&C to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Operate engineered systems for power production.
