About The Position

Weyerhaeuser is seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility. We are currently looking for a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join our Elkin, NC OSB team. We offer excellent wages, starting pay is $23.28 - $33.66 per hour depending on maintenance experience, and benefit package which includes paid vacation, 401K plan, life insurance options as well as medical, dental, and vision coverage. Key Functions: Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment using knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, welding and other related maintenance skills. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues throughout facility. Minimize downtime through completion of preventative maintenance tasks. Work with engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, simple and complex sketches, other related documents and verbal instructions needed to perform assigned duties. Perform work tasks from SAP generated work descriptions and orders. Demonstrate flexibility to perform various job roles within the maintenance department as assigned. Often work must be conducted from heights or within confined spaces.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Degree from a vocational or technical school preferred, High School Diploma or GED Required
If you do not have a degree or relevant experience, you must complete an apprenticeship program within the first 4 years in this position.
Electrical experience preferred.
Must demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new jobs & skills.
Must have excellent listening, verbal & written communication skills.
Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and to be called in to work during critical situations, which may include nights and weekends. Shift work may be required.
Able and willing to work safely around moving manufacturing equipment and machinery
Willingness and ability to perform the essential functions of the position, which include working at heights, climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, stooping, bending and exertion of more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds frequently, and work in an environment containing wood dust and extreme heat or cold.
Must be able and willing to wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Successful completion of pre-employment computer-based testing
Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
