About The Position

As a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician at our Newark, OH facility, you will be responsible for the Maintenance of extrusion equipment and associated processes.. This role offers a starting pay between $38.37 and $40.71 per hour (paid bi-weekly). This is a full-time role that includes annual bonus potential, generous paid time off, 401K with company match, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, parental leave and medical, dental and vision coverage (no waiting period).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in Maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic control systems
  • Required to take WorkKeys Test and receive qualifying test scores on the following assessments: Workplace Documents (6), Applied Math (6), Applied Technology (5) and Graphic Literacy (5)
  • Obtain/maintain a valid forklift license
  • Ability to read and understand diagram, sketches, operation manuals
  • Ability to operate Windows-based computer systems as well as ability to use SAP system to perform maintenance and engineering tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in Electromechanical Technology or closely related degree and 2 years of experience in Maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic control systems
  • Experience using Allen Bradley equipment

Responsibilities

  • Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following all Covestro standard operating procedures
  • Repair and maintain process control systems, programmable logic controllers, HMI programs, laboratory instrumentation, instrumentation systems, and electrical controls
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as extruders, pelletizers, screeners, vacuum pumps, heat exchangers, electric motors, and compressors
  • Troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, cooling towers and chillers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI programs
  • Program control systems
  • Monitor project start-ups
  • Design electrical systems and instrument control loops
  • Evaluate instrument and electrical hardware
  • Communicate with manufacturer’s field engineers as needed
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for parts and equipment
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand or power tools
  • Performs preventive maintenance on all systems and equipment
  • Trouble shoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Perform basic pipefitting tasks
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and for removal of defective parts; using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Coordinates and schedules projects with maintenance, production, laboratory and storeroom
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Installs and removes machines utilizing various rigging devices
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
  • Repairs and maintains HVAC systems, cooling towers and chillers
  • Repairs barrel cooling systems (steam)
