Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician (12hr Nights)

About The Position

This position requires skill progression and testing and interfaces daily with the Maintenance Manager to plan and implement work priorities. The technician attends and participates in daily pre-shift safety meetings and performs as the key maintenance resource to the production shift assigned, providing accurate and timely responses to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The role involves safely performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing of all facility production equipment, support equipment, and structures. The technician will use the company CMMS to schedule, track, and log work order details, and utilize the JDE system/scanner to sign parts out of the parts room. Adherence to safety protocols, including correct PPE, Lockout/Tagout, and other safety systems, is mandatory. All assigned work must be completed in a timely and professional manner, with accuracy and to established standards. The role may involve working directly with vendors and contractors to resolve maintenance issues and training other technicians in areas of expertise. Ordering parts and materials for PMs and projects, and completing all required paperwork, filing, and purging are also key functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems (advanced electrical knowledge is highly desired).
  • Developed mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics skillsets.
  • Experience with hand and power tools a must.
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-technical team members in a clear manner.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Able to apply right mathematical methods and formulas to problem solving.
  • Able to create alternative solutions to problems.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Strong personal and communication skills.
  • Must work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard technical documentation such as electrical / pneumatic / hydraulic schematics, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in machinery used in flexographic printing and blown film manufacturing highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces daily with Maintenance Manager to plan and implement work priorities.

  • Performs as the key maintenance resource to the production shift assigned, providing accurate and timely responses to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Safely performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing of all facility production equipment, support equipment and structures.
  • Uses the company CMMS to schedule, track and log the details of all work issued from the work order system.
  • Utilizes the JDE system / scanner to properly sign parts out of the parts room.
  • Utilizes the correct PPE as required for the job at hand, and properly uses Lockout / Tagout and other safety systems as required by the company.
  • Completes all assigned work in a timely and professional manner, with accuracy and to established standards.
  • Works directly with vendors and contractors as needed to resolve maintenance related issues within the facility or on the equipment.
  • Trains other technicians as needed in tasks where they have high levels of expertise.
  • Orders parts and materials as needed to support PM’s, projects, etc.
  • Completes all required paperwork, filing and purging as needed to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
