About The Position

Service Center Metals (SCM) is expanding its Maintenance Team at its Prince George, VA manufacturing facility and is seeking talented Industrial Maintenance Technicians. This multi-craft position involves working across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and fabrication disciplines. While expertise in all areas is not required, candidates should be strong in at least one area and willing to cross-train. The role focuses on keeping manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently through troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.

Requirements

2+ years of industrial maintenance or related skilled-trades experience preferred
Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with industrial machinery or heavy equipment
Experience in one or more areas such as: Mechanical maintenance, Industrial electrical, Hydraulics and pneumatics, Motors and motor controls, Gearboxes and power transmission, Welding and fabrication, Industrial equipment troubleshooting, Preventive maintenance
Ability and willingness to learn and work across multiple maintenance trades
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment problems
Maintain and repair motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and other industrial equipment
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed
Assist with equipment installation and upgrades
Work with Maintenance and Operations to minimize equipment downtime
Cross-train in multiple maintenance trades and continue developing technical skills
