About The Position

CTS Cement is searching for a Multi-Craft Maintenance Supervisor who will maintain and repair production equipment at our facility located in 2513 W 140th Place, Blue Island, IL 60406. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position that reports to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to research and source replacement parts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot 3-phase/480-volt circuits and low-voltage control circuits.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators, maintenance employees, supervisors, and plant leadership.
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • PLC and VFD troubleshooting experience.
  • Prior experience leading or supervising maintenance employees.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and reliability in meeting scheduled work requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Model safe work practices and promote a safety-first culture across the facility.
  • Follow company safety policies, procedures, and standards, including proper use of required PPE.
  • Attend required safety meetings and participate in safety improvement efforts.
  • Maintain repair-parts inventories, tools, and maintenance supplies in an organized and work-ready condition.
  • Strong knowledge and application of Lockout / Tagout / Tryout safety procedures when servicing or maintaining equipment.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
  • Ability and experience working on 3-phase / 480-volt circuits as well as low voltage control circuits, PLCs, and VFDs.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians, providing assessments of their abilities and improvement opportunities.
  • Work with technicians to educate and improve performance.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components on production equipment.
  • Correct malfunctions or irregularities of operating equipment and safety hazards.
  • Communicate with operators and plant leadership to identify, prioritize, and resolve equipment issues.
  • Serve as the main contact point for ongoing repairs and day-to-day maintenance activities.
  • Safely operate plant mobile equipment to include but not limited to manlifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts.
  • Coordinate planned and unplanned downtime projects, shutdowns, and emergency maintenance work.
  • This job may require shift work, callouts, scheduled and unscheduled hours work schedule may be adjusted on short notice.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
