About The Position

The MuleSoft & SAP ECC Integration Consultant provides hands-on technical development and support across MuleSoft integration middleware and SAP ECC 6.0 environments. MuleSoft integration is the primary driver for this role, paired with ongoing SAP ECC technical support to round out a consistent part-time engagement (~20 hours per week). This role is side-job friendly for candidates with bandwidth and offers long-term growth potential toward a larger engagement as the organization moves into an active SAP S/4HANA migration phase. This is a remote position.

Requirements

Senior-level experience designing, building, and troubleshooting MuleSoft integrations.
Strong hands-on development and configuration experience with SAP ECC 6.0 (including APIs, RFCs, BAPIs, IDocs, and SOAP/REST services).
Proven ability to work independently as a technical consultant managing a dual-technology workload.
Comfort with a flexible, variable weekly workload for MuleSoft tasks paired with consistent SAP ECC support (~20 hours per week total).
Senior technical mindset capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities across middleware and ERP platforms.
Flexibility and time-management capabilities suited for a part-time, side-job friendly engagement with long-term scaling potential.

Nice To Haves

Official MuleSoft technical certifications.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, build-outs, or migrations.
Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) or SAP Cloud Integration (CPI).
Experience designing complex integration architectures within large enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain MuleSoft integrations connecting SAP ECC and third-party systems.
Configure and support APIs, web services (REST/SOAP), RFCs, BAPIs, IDocs, and middleware messaging channels.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve MuleSoft integration errors on an on-demand basis.
Design scalable integration architectures to support evolving business growth and secure data exchange.
Provide hands-on SAP ECC 6.0 technical development, enhancements, customizations, and bug fixing.
Support ongoing production issues and technical enhancement requests across SAP ECC modules.
Develop and support secure data exchanges between SAP ECC and external enterprise applications.
Create technical specifications, API documentation, and integration runbooks.
Assist in planning and supporting the future migration strategy from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA.
Partner with business and technical teams to gather integration requirements and deliver robust technical solutions.
