About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring an MTS Product Development Engineer to develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products. This role involves designing, developing, and managing activities for specific products throughout their lifecycle, from definition and planning through production, release, and end-of-life. The engineer will serve as a central resource, collaborating with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing teams as products move to production and distribution. The position requires working on problems of moderate scope, analyzing situations and data, and exercising judgment within defined company procedures. The role demands utilization of knowledge in computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as design techniques, tools, and principles. Application of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products is essential.

Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
Three (3) years of experience in ASIC design.
Three (3) years of experience in design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
Three (3) years of experience in ASIC design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis).
Three (3) years of experience in Front-end EDA tools.
Three (3) years of experience in TCL or Python.
Three (3) years of experience with ATE tester.
Three (3) years of experience with JTAG or BIST.

Responsibilities

Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products.
Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life.
Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the products move to production and distribution.
Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifestyle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.
Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
