About The Position

MSS Technician performs a variety of industrial cleaning tasks including hydroblasting, vacuum truck operations, chemical cleaning, and dry ice blasting. This role involves cleaning tanks, vessels, confined spaces, and production equipment using specialized tools and machinery. The technician is responsible for adhering to strict safety protocols, including OSHA and HAZWOPER standards, and using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In addition to cleaning duties, the technician will assist with minor mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and maintaining detailed logs and records. This position requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and at significant heights.

Requirements

  • Proficient in handling pressure washers, vacuum trucks, scrubbers, and chemical dosing systems
  • Knowledge of cleaning agents, proper dilution, and safe disposal procedures
  • Familiarity with EPA and OSHA standards for industrial hygiene and contamination control
  • Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and assist with minor repairs
  • Understanding of hazardous and non-hazardous waste segregation and disposal methods
  • Trained in safe entry and cleaning procedures for tanks, vessels, and enclosed areas
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–4 years of experience in industrial cleaning or maintenance roles
  • Handling tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel
  • Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydroblasting, vacuum truck operations, chemical cleaning, and dry ice blasting
  • Clean tanks, vessels, confined spaces, and production equipment
  • Safely handle pressure washers, steam cleaners, scrubbers, and industrial vacuums
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of cleaning tools and machinery
  • Follow OSHA, HAZWOPER, and company-specific safety protocols
  • Use PPE and adhere to confined space entry procedures
  • Assist with minor mechanical repairs and filter replacements
  • Lubricate and clean machinery as part of preventive maintenance
  • Maintain accurate cleaning logs, safety checklists, and waste disposal records
  • Report hazards, equipment malfunctions, and near-miss incidents
  • Coordinate with supervisors and site managers to meet cleaning schedules
  • Train junior technicians on equipment use and safety practices
