About The Position

Vision IT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced MS&A Environment O&M and HD – Systems Administrator to support mission-critical operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB). The selected candidate will provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Help Desk (HD) support for enterprise systems and infrastructure in a secure Department of Defense environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional customer support skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced onsite environment.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Security Clearance (required prior to start).
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification (DoD 8570/IAT Level II compliant).
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 7+ years of systems administration and help desk support experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise networking concepts.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and DoD security requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at LAAFB in a classified or secure environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD or U.S. Air Force programs.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, and NIST security frameworks.
  • Additional certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, or Linux certifications.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administration, monitoring, maintenance, and support of Windows/Linux server environments.
  • Perform system installation, configuration, patch management, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities for mission systems and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Deliver Tier I/II/III Help Desk support for end users and mission partners.
  • Monitor system performance, security compliance, and operational availability.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration records.
  • Support Active Directory administration including user account management, group policies, and permissions.
  • Assist with cybersecurity compliance efforts in accordance with DoD and DISA STIG requirements.
  • Coordinate with network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and program stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain hardware/software inventory and assist with asset management activities.
  • Participate in system backups, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations procedures.
  • Escalate critical incidents and provide timely status updates to leadership and customers.
