About The Position

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced composite aerospace structures, subassemblies, and components for defense and commercial industries. This role is responsible for developing production plans using SAP to meet customer demand, considering both internal and external forecasts. The Scheduler will optimize plant capacity, manage schedule adherence, and maintain required inventory levels. This position collaborates closely with the Value Stream Manager and operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective production flow.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Operations Management, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2-5 years SAP experience in a manufacturing environment specifically with PP and MM modules; WM is also helpful.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Planning, Scheduling or Supply Chain.
  • Experience in operations, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement required.
  • Advanced ERP business process experience required; SAP experience required.
  • Able to work directly with supervisors/team leads to understand situations and plan accordingly.
  • Exceptional communication skills - for use internally and with customers and suppliers as needed. Verbal and written skills necessary.
  • Strong overall computer skills in MS Office Suite required - including Excel, Outlook, Word, Power point at a minimum.
  • Able to lead through influence and manage fulfillment requirements while managing inventory levels and turns for the site.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and oversight, results oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all short to long term planning/scheduling activities for assigned value streams, balancing production and inventory levels with demand to support target customer service levels, inventory turn goals, and capacity utilization/staffing requirements.
  • Develop planning scorecards per value stream to monitor performance and drive improvements.
  • Work closely with Program Management and Operations to maintain accurate and consistent SIOP plans using SAP.
  • Collaborate with assigned value stream leaders to ensure a common understanding of materials flow and usage, applying Lean principles and planning for single piece flow rhythm and kitting where possible.
  • Participate in the Engineering Change Management process, working with engineering, operations, and procurement to manage the introduction, scheduling, and transition of material and BOM revisions, with a solid understanding of SAP production planning.
  • Responsible for intercompany demand and procurement of subassemblies.
  • Actively participate in the NPI process, assisting with analysis of new product introductions and business opportunities to ensure manufacturing supply chain support.
  • Incorporate open-ended development projects into daily and weekly plant level schedules using SAP, MS Project, and other tools.
  • Determine correct inventory levels and controls at a tactical plant level using SAP and the SIOP process, including implementation of lean inventory tools like Kanban, JIT, Min-Max, and Consignment.
  • Drive the integration of Lean planning for each Value Stream with SAP, using SAP for Master Plan and tracking finished goods to shipment.
  • Participate on SAP design and testing teams for new systems, working towards eliminating offline spreadsheets and processes for scheduling and planning.
  • Lead efforts to install standard processes for the planning process, creating and implementing standard work in accordance with ERP methodology.
  • Work closely with the SAP IT organization to test and provide alternative solutions to SAP deficiencies related to planning and material control.
  • Assist in developing standard processes and work instructions for all planning and material control functions.
  • Participate in meetings and stay updated on issues related to Sales Forecast, Manufacturing, Planning, New Product introductions, Line Fill Rates, Metrics, and other Supply Chain issues.
  • Present summaries of key information, metrics, and analysis to the Plant Leadership Team on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Perform any other assigned tasks.
