About The Position

The MRO Purchaser is responsible for planning and executing the procurement and distribution of maintenance and operating supplies, and for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting office and plant services. The role optimizes company assets in acquiring assigned materials, ensuring quality and continuity of supply while minimizing total cost. The position supports operations as needed and performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in indirect inventory purchasing; MRO experience is preferred.
Experience in food or CPG manufacturing environments.
In-depth working knowledge of purchasing processes and practices.
Experience purchasing with inventory management or CMMS software.

Nice To Haves

MRO purchasing experience.
Experience with Maintenance Connection software.

Responsibilities

Develop supply and sourcing strategies, including requests for information, requests for proposal, and competitive bids.
Lead sourcing initiatives, managing timelines and deliverables to drive best value and communicate status, work activities, and issues to leadership.
Research cost-saving opportunities and present them to stakeholders.
Develop and manage continuous improvement activities to increase maintenance customer satisfaction.
Develop continuous improvement plans to reduce direct material costs.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to evaluate and set minimum and maximum stocking levels and inventory reorder points.
Develop strategic supplier relationships.
Negotiate contract prices.
Develop budget estimates and forecasts for MRO supplies.
Manage supplier compliance with agreements within the scope and authority of the position.
Monitor functions and supplier performance against goals, and analyze and document results.
Perform additional duties as assigned and support operations as needed.
