About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for an Experienced MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) Modification Project Technician to join the P-8 team in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for developing and executing the schedule of flight control maintenance and overhaul visit plans, defining and managing resource requirements, tooling, parts inventory, and parts availability. The technician will assist in direct accountability for P8 safety, quality, cost, and schedule, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. They will establish planning, develop strategic plans, conduct risk assessments, and analyze new scheduling techniques. The role involves creating and loading daily schedules, updating them for unplanned work, and developing staffing forecasts. Collaboration with the maintenance planning team to optimize workflow and sequence of work packages, and with operations managers to mitigate schedule conflicts and develop recovery plans when off schedule, is also a key part of this position. Participation in daily Tier Meetings is expected.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with scheduling tools or databases
  • 3+ years of experience with Production Control/Materials Management
  • 3+ years of experience with P8 aircraft
  • 3+ years of experience working with or within one of the following maintenance, repair and overhaul. (MRO) operations: Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain and/or Production Control
  • Ability to work 2nd shift
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing the schedule of flight control maintenance and overhaul visit plan
  • Responding to customer needs
  • Defining and assisting in managing resource requirements, tooling, parts inventory and parts availability with material management and supply chain to support flight control customer and project needs
  • Assisting in direct accountability for P8 safety, quality, cost, & schedule, as well as ensuring compliance to our contractual requirements with both our customers and business partners
  • Establishing planning and developing strategic plans
  • Conducting risk assessments and analyzing new scheduling techniques for current programs and new business proposals
  • Developing and directing maintenance, repairs and overhaul (MRO) operation schedules and time-phased maintenance/repair/modification sequence plans
  • Performing flow-time calculations, validating the schedule data with supervisors and producing schedule status data for management
  • Understanding critical path jobs and which milestones they support
  • Creating and loading daily schedule with proper sequencing of work instructions with durations and establishing timeline(s) for the execution of work
  • Updating schedules for unplanned work
  • Developing appropriate staffing forecasts to support program commitments
  • Working with maintenance planning team to optimize workflow and sequence of work packages
  • Working with operations managers to mitigate schedule conflicts
  • Developing a recovery plan as necessary when off schedule
  • Participating in daily Tier Meetings
