About The Position

Eurofins Professional Scientific Services (PSS) is seeking a Process Development Scientist to join the messenger-RNA (mRNA) process development team. This role contributes to early and operational tech development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production and analysis of RNA constructs, carrying out preparative and purification chromatography, performing in vitro transcription (IVT) and purification experiments (chromatography, tangential flow filtration), and executing analytical methods such as capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), Akta chromatography, HPLC, and ELISA. The role also involves processing data, providing summaries to stakeholders, preparing buffers and reagents, maintaining lab notebooks, ordering materials, maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment, and upholding the highest lab safety standards.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry (or related field) with 1+ years of relevant laboratory experience, or M.S. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry (or related field) with at least 6 months of relevant laboratory experience
  • Experience with molecular biology and RNA biochemistry methods including IVT
  • Experience with tangential flow filtration (TFF), capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), Akta chromatography, HPLC, and ELISA
  • Experience with good documentation practices and electronic lab notebooks such as Benchling
  • Unwavering commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow SOPs, and comply with company policies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, inquisitive, self-motivated, and enthusiasm to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing processes for RNA-LNP, protein, mAB, or AAV therapeutics or vaccines (experience with RNA therapeutics is preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Production and analysis of RNA constructs
