Operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of a patient's body for diagnostic purposes. This role involves interviewing patients, verifying safety for MRI procedures, positioning patients, monitoring their safety and comfort, performing studies according to protocols, reviewing images for quality, gaining IV access, and managing patient data and imaging systems. The technologist must maintain a safe work area, demonstrate competency with RIS and PACS, and be able to create Viewer and DICOM CDs. Attendance at meetings and training sessions may be required, potentially outside regular working hours, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to team goals and professional development.
