Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Radiation Therapy and attainment of post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) - OR - the successful completion of an accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and attainment of primary certification from the ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT within one year of eligibility.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
  • Registration with the ARRT, ARMRIT or CAMRT within one year of eligibility is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request.
  • Obtain pertinent information from patient’s chart and document all data within the EHR.
  • Educate patient for exam.
  • Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies.
  • Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure.
  • Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images.
  • Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality.
  • Apply the principles of MR safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others and aware of the principles of ALARA.
  • Assist physicians in performing procedures.
