The MRI Technologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This role is responsible for maintaining accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care. The technologist produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards, applying professional judgment to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges. They review images prior to exam completion and initiate corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met. Administering contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring, is also a key responsibility. The role involves operating imaging equipment, maintaining imaging room readiness, and identifying equipment performance issues. Coordination of exam flow and prioritization of time-sensitive studies are essential. Accurate and timely documentation in the medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability, and charging accuracy, is required. The MRI Technologist upholds organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements, ensuring a positive patient experience and supporting department initiatives for improvement.
